Why did I choose to talk about Colombia in my post? Because the legal regulations are varied between the countries and the research I conducted this week applies to mine. However, if you are in the United States you can search for national and by state information.
Which licenses and taxes apply to web businesses? Web businesses are a growing industry and in developing countries there are not enough specific regulations for them. However, considering that behind an online business there is a person, a product, or a company, the regulations for the one that is behind the web page apply for that specific business. For example, if a person works in a sole proprietorship and promotes his services online, the regulations for a sole proprietorship apply to that business. In this case, the owner is liable for everything in the business, the applicable taxes are the ones of the person in charge, to become a corporation the company requires to have a determined amount of sales or transactions.
